FTDC Lab
The FTDC lab, located in Weir 101, is open to all UM faculty, staff, and TAs and houses both high-end windows and mac computers. We also have flatbed scanners that work on both platforms. Several of our scanners have document feeders that allow for fast scanning of multipage documents. We also have 35mm slide/negative scanners that are available for use. In addition to scanners, we have multiple video digitization stations that allow for the digitizing and editing of video for use in PowerPoint presentations, websites, and DVDs. Our macs and pcs all have DVD burners in them, and we also have a CD/DVD duplicator that will burn multiple discs at once. We also have both B/W and Color laser printers.
Teaching Labs
The teaching labs in Weir Hall are comprised of a Mac Lab, a PC Lab, and a small Conference / Study Room. Each lab is available for reservation for class projects, presentations, and training sessions. Weir 104 – 16 Macs; Weir 107 – 19 PCs; Weir 115. All labs have a projector and screen.

Departmental Software
Licenses for Microsoft, Symantec Antivirus, and Adobe
software are available at the FTDC. These
licenses may be purchased for installation on any University owned
computer.

Digital Audio/Video and Camera Checkout
The FTDC has several digital devices that are available for faculty and staff to checkout. For video capture, we have both Canon Digital Video cameras and Flip Video recorders available. For audio or podcast recording, we have Sony and Marantz mp3 recorders. We also have a couple of digital still cameras available.These devices may be reserved by sending an email to ftdc@olemiss.edu, letting us know what you need and when you would like to pick it up. There is a three day checkout limit for all equipment. For more information, give us a call at 915-7918.
Tutorials and Training Resources
FTDC staff are responsible for creating training documentation and tutorials for various campus systems, including myOleMiss and Blackboard. These documents may be accessed on our Tutorials page.
UM PowerPoint Template
This PowerPoint template is available for Faculty
and Staff to use when making presentations. The template provides
a title slide with a large version of the University of Mississippi
logo located on a dark blue background. The master content slide
contains a small version of the UM logo located in the lower left-hand
corner of the slide.
