Financial Aid Timeline
Learn about all of the important dates and deadlines for financial aid.
Applications and Awarding Timeline
Disbursement of aid for the term begins approximately five days before the first day of classes. Aid that is ready for release will be posted to the student’s bursar account and Email notifications will be sent to the student.
| August 1st, 2026 | Admissions Application available for the 2027-2028 academic year. |
| September 15th | The Freshman Scholarship Application is available for the 2027-2028 academic year. |
| October 1st | The Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid Application is available for the 2027-2028 year to apply for state aid programs such as MTAG, MESG, and HELP Grant. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opens for all students for the 2027-2028 academic year. |
| November | Academic Merit and other non-competitive entering freshmen and community college transfer scholarships are awarded to students for the 2027-2028 academic year. This awarding process continues through July. |
| December 1st, 2026 | Community College Transfer Scholarship Application available online for the 2027-2028 academic year. |
| January 10th, 2027 | Deadline for the Freshman Scholarship Application. Raise Me! Scholarship Deadline for 2027-2028 (Mississippi residents only). |
| January 15th | Regional Campus Scholarship Application availabe.* |
| February 1st | 27-28 Health Professions Student Loan (HPSL) Application available (Only Pharmacy students are eligible for this loan). |
| March | Competitive Scholarships awarding process will begin. Awarding and re-awarding of scholarships will continue through August as additional funds become available. New freshmen will also be notified of any Federal, State, and Institutional Awards for the 2027-2028 year in late March. |
| March 1st | Priority date to submit the FAFSA to be considered for the Ole Miss Opportunity Scholarship. OSHER RE-Entry Scholarship Application available online. Deadline to submit the Community College Transfer Scholarship Application. |
| March 31st | Deadline to apply for the Mississippi HELP State Grant. (We strongly encourage applying for MTAG and MESG by this date as well – to be ahead of schedule! It’s the same application.) |
| May 1st | Priority date for the Health Profession Student Loan Application |
| June 1st | Priority Date for the OSHER RE-Entry Scholarship Application. |
| June 30th | Final date to complete the FAFSA for the 2026-2027 year. |
| July 1st | Deadline to apply for the OSHER RE-Entry Scholarship Application. |
