Biography

Abby Sides is a 3rd year Ph.D. student at the University of Mississippi. Prior to her doctoral studies, Abby received both her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and her Master of Accountancy from the University of North Alabama. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Alabama, a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). She worked as an internal auditor before spending the last few years as a consultant for Guidehouse where she provided audit readiness consulting to the Department of Defense.

Abby primarily teaches Principles of Accounting I and II. Her current research focuses on the relationship between non-financial violations and critical audit matters (CAMs).
