Biography

Mrs. Erika DeVore is a fourth-year doctoral candidate in the Patterson School of Accountancy at the University of Mississippi. Mrs. DeVore is a CPA, an active member of the American Accounting Association, and in the dissertation phase of the program. Erika's expertise is in data analytics programming (Excel, Altryex, Tableau, PowerBI), coding languages (Python, PERL, SQL), audit, and financial accounting. Prior to joining the PhD program, Erika served as a senior auditor at LBMC, PC in Brentwood, Tennessee; her clientele included manufacturing companies, distribution companies, private schools, not-for-profit entities, and pension plans.

She teaches Accy 302: Fundamentals of Accounting Data Analytics. In prior semesters, she has taught Accy 201: Introduction to Accounting Principles I and served as the graduate assistant for Accy 628: Accountancy Data Modeling and Visualization. Her current research focuses on the relationship between XBRL data structure and management negligence.
