Biography
Joy Carpenter earned a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Central Florida. She worked in quality control in the chemical industry and in online and phone technical support for internet service providers in Memphis before seeking the Mississippi Alternate Path to Quality Teachers (MAPQT) in 2007. Since then, she has taught science for 17 years in Desoto County at the introductory and Advanced Placement levels. While teaching, she earned a M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction from University of Texas, Arlington.
Joy is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in education with an emphasis in science because she has a passion for understanding the world through research and investigation and helping others do the same.
