Biography
Paola “Sofia” Euyoque, a first-generation Mexican American and college graduate, graduated magna cum laude from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Music with an emphasis in Music Education in May 2025. As an undergraduate, she was an active member of the University of Mississippi Wind Ensemble, performing on clarinet and bass clarinet, and the UM Clarinet Studio. She was also an active member of the Pride of the South Marching Band, where she marched clarinet, served as a section leader, and concluded her marching career as one of the band’s drum majors in the fall of 2024.
Beyond her musical involvement, Euyoque served as an official ambassador for the Luckyday Scholars Program and the Department of Music. In these roles, she represented both programs at university events, spoke with prospective students, and supported recruitment and outreach efforts. Aside from her involvement with Ole Miss, Euyoque has worked with several school districts across Mississippi as a band camp staff and continues to teach private clarinet and drum major lessons throughout the state.
Currently, Euyoque is a second-year graduate student at the University of Mississippi pursuing a master’s degree in Music Education. As she enters her final year, she is excited to continue serving as a graduate assistant for the Ole Miss Bands and supporting the continued growth and success of the program and its students.
