ThiCat Vu
ThiCat Vu is a School of Education graduate student and works as a graduate assistant for SOE Technology.
Biography
ThiCat Vu was born and raised in Gulfport, Mississippi. As a proud resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, she grew up enjoying various water activities with her family, participating in her high school's band program as a percussionist, and connecting with friends and members of her community.
ThiCat graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2023 with her Bachelor's of Arts in Secondary Science Education with an emphasis in Biology. As an undergraduate, she was a Provost Scholar and a fellow of the Mississippi Excellence in Teaching Program's 7th Cohort. She is now pursuing her Master's of Education in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Science (Biology) Education while working as a graduate assistant for the School of Education technology department. Her daily tasks as a GA involve assisting her supervisor with any and all things technology, such as: helping faculty and staff with technology problems, configuring software, setting up hardware, updating inventory, and corresponding regularly with necessary personnel to manage the new School of Education website.
During all her time at the University, ThiCat held leadership positions within the Ole Miss Vietnamese-American Student Association (Ole VASA) as Historian, President, and Senior Advisor. ThiCat also has a deep passion for leading Camp Delta, a summer leadership camp for college-age students throughout Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana. For Camp Delta, she has been an attendee, Hospitality Staff Member, Counselor, and Programming Director.
ThiCat's future plans after graduating with her Master's is to move back to the Mississippi Gulf Coast to teach 6-12th grade science and be closer to her family.
