Understand the relationship between people, events, cultures, places, and time.

Study the Past to Sharpen Your Mind
History is the study and analysis of the past. Historians strive to understand the relationship between people, events, cultures, places, and time, in order to understand how the world in which we live has come about.
Students majoring in history, by examining the root causes and significance of world events, gain a deeper perspective on the contemporary world. Along the way, they also sharpen their skills in analysis, research, writing, public speaking, and information organization. In short, majoring in history will equip you with tools that will come handy in almost any career.
