University, Southern Sky Brands to Launch CBD Sleep Study

The study, conducted through the university's National Center for Cannabis Research and Education, represents a significant step toward advancing evidence-based research on cannabinoid therapies and their potential role in supporting healthy sleep. Researchers will examine key sleep-related outcomes, including the duration and quality of sleep and overall wellness measures reported by participants.

The university established the center in 2022 to advance scientific understanding of cannabis through research, education and public outreach. It builds upon Ole Miss' decades-long leadership in cannabis and cannabinoid research.

"This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to generating high-quality scientific data that can help patients, health care professionals and policymakers better understand the potential benefits of cannabinoids," said Robert Welch, the center's director.
