Biography
Dr. Ali Behnood serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Mississippi. He earned his Ph.D. from the Lyles School of Civil Engineering at Purdue University, where he also spent three years as a post-doctoral research associate followed by two years as a research associate within the same institution. Prior to joining the University of Mississippi, Dr. Behnood gained valuable experience as a design engineer at the Indiana Department of Transportation. Dr. Behnood's research interests encompass the fields of data analytics, construction materials, transportation engineering, with a focus on advancing sustainable and resilient infrastructures and smart cities. He actively contributes to various committees of esteemed organizations such as the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Academy of Pavement Science and Engineering, and the Transportation Research Board. Dr. Behnood's scholarly contributions have garnered recognition, including being listed in the Clarivate™ list of Highly Cited Researchers™, ScholarGPS Highly Ranked Scholar, and being ranked among the Top 2% scientists globally. Additionally, his expertise has been acknowledged through his selection as an outstanding reviewer for esteemed journals, such as the ASCE Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering, for three consecutive years.
