Brief Bio
Dr. Ahmed Al-Ostaz is Professor of Civil Engineering and Brevard Family Endowed Chair at University of Mississippi. He joined the faculty members at Ole Miss in January, 2002. Before coming to Ole Miss, Dr. Al-Ostaz was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Composite Materials and Structures Center and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Mechanics at Michigan State University. Dr. Al-Ostaz's primary teaching interests are in structural mechanics. His research interests are in micro and macro mechanics of composite materials, elasticity and fracture mechanics, computational and experimental mechanics, impact dynamics, nano-structured - materials, and repair and rehabilitation of concrete structures.
