UNIVERSITY OF MISSISSIPPI SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES


The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Brief Bio

Mark Van Boening received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Arizona, and he joined the faculty at UM in 1990. He teaches intermediate and graduate level microeconomics. His main area of research is empirical analysis of microeconomic behavior, primarily through laboratory (experimental) methods. Current areas of interest include bargaining and markets. Professor Van Boening's research has appeared in the Economic Journal, the American Economic Review, the Journal of Labor, and the Journal of Law & Economics. He is a member of the American Economic Association, Economic Science Association, Southern Economic Association, Western Economic Association, Econometric Society, & Society for Empirical Legal Studies. Dr. Van Boening also oversees The Mississippi Experimental Research Laboratory (MERL), a computerized research facility located on the Oxford campus of the University of Mississippi.
