The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Brief Bio

Byron S. Villacorta is Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Mississippi. Dr. Villacorta received his Ph.D. from Clemson University in 2013. In 2014 he joined the University of Queensland (Australia) where he conducted postdoctoral studies in the School of Chemical Engineering and in the Centre for Advanced Materials Processing and Manufacturing (AMPAM). Dr Villacorta has published numerous articles on materials processing, materials for separations, and composite materials. He has received research funding from the Australian Research Council and the Queensland Government for several innovative engineering projects. His research has led to notable professional achievements that include the development and patenting of materials and processes that have had a commercial impact upon the Australian and American industry. Moreover, Dr Villacorta possesses industrial experience as a professional chemical engineer from the time he spent in the chemical industry prior to his graduate studies. Dr. Villacorta specializes in advanced materials processing, with a particular focus on functional nanocomposites, renewable nanomaterials & biocomposites, and composite materials for harsh environments.
