Biography

Dr. Stuart is the Associate Director of Academic Programs for the Center of Manufacturing Excellence. She has worked at The University of Mississippi since 2007. Her previous roles included advising pre-med and pre-vet students in the Health Professions Advising Office as well as working both in the Career Center and the Office of Development. She teaches Business Communications in the School of Business and serves as an Instructional Assistant Professor of Higher Education Administration.

Dr. Stuart earned her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Higher Education Administration from The University of Southern Mississippi where she studied career development, student retention, mentoring relationships, and successful transitions in academic life.  These research interests inspire her work with students where she feels that moving from life as a student to a new professional involves learning a number of successful transition and leadership strategies.

She is very involved in campus life serving on a variety of committees as well as serving as an advisor to the Student Personnel Association.  Her dedication to the field includes previously serving as President of Mississippi Association of Colleges and Employers as well assisting in other roles and committees both in MACE and SoACE (Southern Association of Colleges and Employers).

Outside of work, Dr. Stuart and her husband enjoy getting to be big kids while they discover the world with their sons, Buckner(8) and Aidan (3).
