Brief Bio
Daniel E. O'Sullivan is Professor of French and Chair of the Department of Modern Languages. He received his Ph.D. from Boston College in 2000 and joined the faculty in 2002. Dr. O'Sullivan has written, edited, or co-edited several books and numerous articles on medieval French and Occitan language, literature, and music. The College of Liberal Arts Teacher of the Year and a Mississippi Humanities Council Teacher of the Year in 2008, he regularly teaches undergraduate and graduate courses, directs undergraduate and MA theses, and is part of the HON 101/102 team for the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College. He is also passionate about cooking and holds black belts in various martial arts.
