Brief Bio
Erik Hom is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology. A graduate of Swarthmore College, Dr. Hom received his Ph.D. in Biophysics from the University of California, San Francisco, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University, in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology & Faculty of Arts and Sciences Center for Systems Biology. His expertise and research interests include: synthetic ecology, the evolution of symbiosis, microbial evolutionary ecology, genomics, microscopy and image processing, and biological approaches for waste transformation and valorization.
