Research Interests
- Through the lens of Listening Intelligence, I create powerful interventions that guide, inspire, and empower (a) leaders with the mindsets and skills necessary to transform their workforce and (b) teams with the tools to work together more efficiently and productively.
- As Chief Listening Officer with Listen First Project, I help lead the collaborative movement to heal America by bridging divides, transforming division and contempt into connection and understanding. Graduate students can apply to serve as social media coordinators and in other roles as their skillsets warrant.
- By creating inclusive and welcoming spaces, I help communities and the organizations and government units that serve them work together to solve complex problems. I approach this work through the model of collective impact whereby no single organization retains responsibility for social change but multiple stakeholders work collaboratively to define and solve the issues that matter most.
- My work is grounded in solid social science methods, and I continue to develop and test theories of human listening capacity as well as create and validate measurement tools to approximate both individual and collective capacity to listen across differences.
