The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Brief Bio

Jennifer Robinson, soprano, has performed opera, oratorio, and recital throughout the United States. Her operatic roles include Despina and Fiordiligi in Cosi Fan Tutte, Marenka in The Bartered Bride, Adele in Die Fledermaus, and Pamina in The Magic Flute. Companies with whom she has appeared include Charlotte Opera, North Carolina Opera, and the Charlotte Town Players. Ms. Robinson was engaged for two seasons as artist in residence with Opera Carolina. Active in oratorio, Ms. Robinson has performed as a soloist with the Germantown Symphony Orchestra, Hilton Head Oratorio Society, the Tar River Orchestra, and the Sun Coast Oratorio Society. She has also performed with the North Carolina Bach Festival and the Tallahassee Bach Parley. As a concert soloist, she has appeared on the concert series of William Carey University, Davidson College, in the Festival of Italian Opera (Hilton Head), and at the North Carolina Museum of Art. She is instructor of music at the University of Mississippi, and teaches both studio and class voice. Instructor of Music Jennifer Robinson, soprano, has performed widely throughout the United States in opera, oratorio, and recital. Her operatic roles include Despina in Cosi Fan Tutte, Marenka in The Bartered Bride, Adele in Die Fledermaus, and Pamina in The Magic Flute. Active in oratorio, Ms. Robinson's solo appearances include those with the Hilton Head Oratorio Society, Tar River Orchestra, Sun Coast Oratorio Society, and both the North Carolina Bach Festival and the Tallahassee Bach Parley. Her repertoire includes The Creation (Haydn), Messiah (Handel), Lord Nelson Mass (Haydn), and Christmas Oratorio (Bach). Of her performance of Haydn's Creation with the Arkansas Choral Society and members of the Little Rock Symphony, the Arkansas Democrat Gazette stated: "marvelous throughout. Jennifer Robinson was especially luminous in the arias 'With verdure clad' and 'On mighty pens.'" Her many recital engagements include the 50th anniversary conference of the College Music Society, the National Opera Association's national conference in Washington, D.C., guest artist series of numerous universities, and performances for the National Association of Teachers of Singing. Concert soloist venues include the Germantown Symphony Orchestra, the Hilton Head Festival of Italian Opera, and the North Carolina Museum of Art Chamber Music Series. She also appeared at the joint national conference of the National Opera Association and National Association of Teachers of Singing in a performance of Leonard Bernstein's Arias and Barcarolles. Recent performances include singing the lead soprano role of Gertrude in the world premiere of Nancy Van de Vate's opera Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, based on the play by Shakespeare. This performance was followed a month later by the European premiere of the work in Prague, Czech Republic. Between these two productions, Ms. Robinson appeared as the soprano soloist in Mendlessohn's Elijah in two collaborative performances with the Germantown Symphony and the Oxford Civic Chorus. Ms. Robinson is a Yoga Alliance Certified Instructor of Yoga, and is currently developing programs that enhance performers' artistic abilities through natural, holistic means. Her presentation "Yoga and Meditation for Performers" was featured on the Southern Regional Conference of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and has been offered in several other venues. The University of Mississippi now includes the class Yoga for Performers as part of its diverse class offerings. Ms. Robinson holds a master of music degree in vocal performance from The Florida State University, and has pursued doctoral studies leading to the doctor of musical arts degree at the University of Illinois. She currently serves as instructor of music at the University of Mississippi, where she teaches studio voice, class voice, and Yoga for Performers. Ms. Robinson may be heard on Albany Records.
