Brief Bio
Dr. Minsoo Kang is a Professor of Sport Analytics in the Department of Health, Exercise Science, and Recreation Management (HESRM), earned both his B.A. and M.S. degrees from Seoul National University in South Korea and his Ph.D. in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In 2004, Dr. Kang took a position of Assistant Professor at the Health and Human Performance Department at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), and in 2017, he joined the Department of HESRM at the University of Mississippi. Dr. Kang has published numerous papers on measurement and assessment issues in health, exercise science, and sports. Dr. Kang teaches courses on statistical analysis, research methods, meta-analysis, and measurement theories at the graduate levels. Dr. Kang is a fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine, and a research fellow of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (AAHPERD; aka SHAPE America). Dr. Kang received the Distinguished Research Award at the Middle Tennessee State University. He currently serves as an associate editor of the Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sports and also a member of the Editorial Board for several leading journals in the field.
