Biography

As Head of Research and Instruction Services I support teaching and learning at all levels on the Oxford and distance campuses with a team of librarians and students in the Department of Research and Instruction. I am a liaison to the Center for Student Success and First Year Experience. I am also the subject librarian to the departments of Athletic Training; Health, Exercise Science & Recreation Management; Public Health; and Freshman Studies. I coordinate the Ask a Librarian chat services and lead the first-year instruction initiative as well as work with the campus-wide Common Reading Experience committee each year. My research involves first-year student learning in academic libraries as well as community engagement partnerships with school librarians, including two annual events, School Library Symposium and Library Experience Day, both hosted by UM Libraries.
