Micah Paul Everett
Brief Bio
Micah Everett is Associate Professor of Music at the University of Mississippi, where he teaches applied trombone, euphonium, and tuba, coaches and conducts low brass chamber ensembles, and teaches Low Brass Methods. A Mississippi native, Everett received the Bachelor of Music Education degree from Delta State University, and the Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Prior to joining the Ole Miss faculty in 2012, Everett held teaching positions at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, the University of Northern Iowa, Elon University, and UNCG. He is a previous American Trombone Workshop solo competition winner, and serves as Assistant Editor (Audio/Video Reviews) of the International Trombone Association Journal. His publications include the 2014 book THE LOW BRASS PLAYER'S GUIDE TO DOUBLING, published by Mountain Peak Music, the CD recording STEPPING STONES FOR BASS TROMBONE, VOL. I, released in 2015 on the Potenza Music label, and numerous arrangements, pedagogical articles, and reviews.
