Brief Bio
Sasan Nouranian is an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering in the School of Engineering at the University of Mississippi. He received his Ph.D. in 2011 from the Dave C. Swalm School of Chemical Engineering at Mississippi State University. He also holds Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Polymer Engineering. His research interests are primarily in the area of materials science and engineering with specialization in polymers, polymer composites, and graphene and other 2D materials. Focus areas include design and characterization of polymer nanocomposites and smart multifunctional materials, and computational studies of lower length scale material phenomena, especially interfaces in hybrid materials. In recent years, he has focused on the molecular simulation of drug delivery systems, ionic liquids, polymer/ionic liquid membranes, materials in extreme environments, and graphene-enhanced engineering materials. He has published over 30 peer- reviewed articles in high-impact-factor journals, such as ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, Carbon, Journal of Materials Chemistry B, etc. He has over 100 verified reviews for over 40 journals in his field.
