Brief Bio
Joseph D. Wellman is an Assistant Professor of Psychology. Dr. Wellman received his Ph.D. from the University of Maine in 2012. Following a 2 year postdoctoral fellowship at Wesleyan University, Dr. Wellman was a Assistant Professor of Psychology at California State University San Bernardino before joining the Psychology faculty at the University of Mississippi. Dr. Wellman's research focuses on examining the consequences of stigma and discrimination. His research has been published in journals such as the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, Personality & Social Psychology Bulletin, and Appetite. He has previously received NSF funding for a institutional ADVANCE grant while at CSUSB.
