Whitney Drewrey is a Clinical Instructor of Special Education and Program Coordinator of The Bridge Program.
Research Interests
Whitney's research interests center primarily around students with autism and specifically the effects of peer mentoring on students with autism.
Biography
Whitney has a 20-year background in the K-12 education setting teaching 6th grade science and also teaching students with disabilities. She received her undergraduate degree from The University of Mississippi in Psychology in 1990. Since then she has obtained a teaching license through Mississippi Valley State University, National Board Certification in Early Childhood Science, a Masters in Special Education from Arkansas State University, and an Ed.S in Emotional and Behavioral Disorders from William Carey University. In 2018, Whitney was named Mississippi's Teacher of the Year. She is currently working on her Doctoral degree in Special Education. Her research is focused on the use of peer mentoring for college students with autism.
