Research Interests
Amy Fisher’s research focuses on social work student learning and development, particularly as it relates to anti-oppressive and anti-racist social work.
Current projects include how students learn about social empathy, which goes beyond interpersonal empathy to include understanding larger social groups and the conditions that shape the experiences of those groups. Other projects include the exploration and examination of anti-racist and anti-oppressive education and practice.
