Dr. Andrew Bilbo is the Assistant Director of Health Professions Advising Office. His primary advising responsibilities includes Health Informatics and Information Management, Histotechnology, and Nursing (last names A-L).
Biography
Dr. Andrew Bilbo is the Assistant Director of the Health Professions Advising Office. He joined the office in 2018 and primarily works with Pre-Nursing, Pre-Health Informatics and Information Management, and Pre-Histotechnology students. Dr. Bilbo oversees on-campus recruitment for the office and helps administer the website. He earned his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Mississippi in 2007; M.A. in Political Science from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2015; and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Kansas in 2022. After starting his higher education career in political science, Dr. Bilbo came to love working with health professions students and being a part of their journey.
His service on campus includes advising the Pre-Nursing Society, serving on several committees: the CLA-Health Professions Advisory Committee; Undergraduate Application Selection Committee for Health Profession Advising Office; Ad Hoc Committee for the Common Reading Exp. Selection Sub-Committee; and Academic Recruitment Committee.
Dr. Bilbo is originally from Clinton, MS. He and his wife, Amanda, are devoted Ole Miss alumni and can often be found in the Grove or at games cheering on the Rebels. They live in Oxford with their four children Luke, Preston, Mack, and Scarlett.
