Destiny Horn is the Administrative Coordinator for the Law School’s Clinical Programs. A graduate of the law school, she brings firsthand experience as a former clinic student to her role, along with a strong background in legal research, investigative support, and citation review for major filings and publications.
Research Interests
- Analyzing patterns in wrongful convictions in the state of Mississippi
- The impact the unreliability of eye-witness testimony in court cases
- The use of "junk science" or flawed forensic science to obtain convictions
- The effect of police interrogation tactics which elicit false confessions and guilty pleas
Biography
Destiny Horn is the Administrative Coordinator for the Clinical Programs at the Law School, where she primarily supports the George C. Cochran Innocence Project, as well as other clinical needs. She earned her Juris Doctor from the Law School in 2023, having also completed her undergraduate studies at the same institution with a Bachelor of Science in Law Studies and minors in English and Psychology. During her time as a law student, Ms. Horn was an active participant in the Innocence Project clinic, an experience that now informs and enriches her work within the Clinical Programs office. She maintains a strong interest in legal research and investigative work, and has contributed to the preparation and citation review of several significant court filings, as well as a forthcoming publication by the clinic’s director. Ms. Horn has been a member of the Oxford community for nearly a decade and is dedicated to supporting law students as they engage in experiential learning and public service through clinical education.
