David Mathis

Assistant Professor of Marketing


Dr. David Mathis is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the University of Mississippi. His research interests focus on digital marketing, online shopping behaviors, and the impact of eCommerce on traditional retail. His classroom experience includes courses taught on principles of marketing, marketing strategy, digital & social media marketing, and supply chain management. Dr. Mathis earned a Ph.D. in marketing from the University of Alabama and holds an MBA from Utah State University and a B.A. in advertising from Brigham Young University.

Prior to a career in academia, Dr. Mathis worked in marketing management for 15 years at both private-sector companies and public universities. He has experience working with several customer groups including general consumers, law enforcement & military clients, and first-generation or underserved college students.
