David Sanders

Dr. David Sanders is a Computational Physicist and Research Scientist in the Department of Physics at the University of Mississippi.

Research Interests

Dr. Sanders is an experimental elementary particle physicist who is currently working with the Belle II experiment based in Tsukuba, Japan and the DUNE experiment based at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (FNAL).

Biography

Since starting at the University of Mississippi in 1997, Dr. Sanders has worked on several elementary particle experiments. These include the Fermilab E791 experiment at FNAL, the BaBar experiment at SLAC, the Compact Muon Solenoid experiment (CMS) at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, the Muon Ionization Cooling Experiment (MICE) at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in the UK, as well as the two current experiments Belle II and DUNE. In addition to the particle experiments Dr. Sanders runs the Open Science Grid (OSG) Tier-3 computer complex at the University of Mississippi. He is a member of the American Physical Society (APS) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).
