Biography

Emma earned a B.A. in International Studies and Arabic along with a minor in Intelligence and Security Studies from the University of Mississippi in 2023. She is a graduate of the Croft Institute for International Studies, where she focused on the Middle East/North Africa region, and the Arabic Flagship program. As part of the Arabic Flagship program, she studied abroad Summer 2021 at the MALIC Center in Amman, Jordan, and she completed the Capstone year in Meknes, Morocco, from June 2022-May 2023. After graduating from the university, she received a CASA (Center for Arabic Study Abroad) fellowship to study Arabic intensively in Amman, Jordan, from August 2023-May 2024. While in Jordan, Emma also volunteered with Squash Dreamers, an organization that coaches refugee girls in the sport of Squash and provides free English classes and homework assistance. Emma began working as the Project Coordinator for the Arabic Flagship program in July 2024. 

As the Project Coordinator, Emma is responsible for handling the program logistics, including planning events, such as the annual showcase, advising students, coordinating with overseas partners, and recruiting prospective students. She is the public face of the program, and is always happy to answer questions over email, the phone, or in person in her office. Emma also attends recruiting events across the state and around the country, and is available for high school visits to discuss the Arabic Flagship program.
