Georgianna Mann is an Associate Professor of Nutrition and Hospitality Management. She has a broad area of research interest in community nutrition, pedagogical practices, and food science.

Biography

Georgianna Mann has served as a faculty member in the Department of Nutrition and Hospitality Management since 2016. Her research primarily centers on community nutrition with many partnerships in the region. She has developed a service-learning program nested in Community Nutrition: Theory and Application where she has worked with some wonderful community programs. She finds great joy in teaching and is interested in pedagogical approaches to foster student success. Prior to her position at the University of Mississippi, she earned her Ph.D. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Human Foods, Nutrition and Exercise). Her M.S. was also at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Food Science). Her B.S.A. is from the University of Georgia (Animal Science). Mann is an avid gardener and enjoys building small projects including garden spaces, furniture, and small structures.
