Biography

Dr. Kim Beason, Ed.D., CPRE, CTRS, is Professor Emeritus of Sport and Recreation Administration at the University of Mississippi, where he served for more than three decades as faculty, program coordinator, and mentor to graduate and doctoral students. His scholarship has centered on recreation administration, fantasy sport consumer behavior, community development, aquatic therapy, and professional credentialing; resulting in numerous peer-reviewed publications, funded research projects, and national presentations. He has secured over half a million dollars in external grants and contracts to support recreation, tourism, and community quality-of-life initiatives, including projects with the USDA Forest Service and the National Recreation and Park Association. A Certified Park and Recreation Executive and Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Dr. Beason has served in leadership roles with NRPA, MRPA, and other professional associations, contributing to accreditation, credentialing, and national standards. He now continues his applied work as CEO of Re-Create QOL Consultants, LLC, advancing parks, recreation, and tourism initiatives across Mississippi and beyond.
