Jeff Case teaches journalism and sports journalism courses at Ole Miss.
Biography
Jeff Case earned his master's degree in mass communication from Georgia State University and his bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Central Florida. Prior to joining the University of Mississippi's faculty, he served as a part-time instructor at Georgia State, teaching courses on news writing and advanced news writing.
He is an experienced journalist and editor with a lengthy career in sports media. He spent more than 25 years in the field with a variety of outlets — including ESPN, Turner Sports and NBA.com — and worked for print magazines and newspapers. He has a vast background in online news and sports production, linear TV graphic production, breaking sports and news coverage and live sports event coverage. He hopes to help equip his students with real-world skills, professional contacts and class work that helps them succeed in the next phase of their career and life.
Jeff Case is a "pseudo-southerner" as he lived in Florida and Georgia for many years — but he is a Midwest native and lived in Connecticut, too. When he's not teaching at Ole Miss, he enjoys watching a vast array of movies, being active at his church, traveling to new cities and states, rooting for his teams (they perpetually let him down, of course) and most of all, spending time with his family.
