Biography
Jordan Burkey specializes in structural geology, tectonics, and earthquake geology and has a passion for geoscience education. She earned her M.S. in Geoscience from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), where she conducted research on Quaternary slip history in the northern Eastern California Shear Zone to understand fault slip rates and paleoearthquake histories. She teaches geology intro-level courses where she strives to engage students, stimulate their curiosity, ensure their success, and act as an approachable mentor. She provides innovative and active student-centered approaches to her classroom.
