Julie James

Dr. Julie James is the Assistant Director of Professional Learning for the Center for Mathematics and Science Education. She is recognized nationally as a leader in mathematics teacher professional learning.

Mathematics teaching & learning: Instructional strategies to support K-12 students' development of conceptual understanding of mathematics; Mathematics content progressions: within and across grade level connections between mathematics concepts and skills

Biography

Dr. Julie James is the Assistant Director of Professional Learning for the Center for Dr. Julie James is the Assistant Director of Professional Learning for the Center for Mathematics and Science Education. Julie began working with the CMSE in 2007 as a Mathematics and Science Education. Julie began working with the CMSE in 2007 as a member of the first cohort of graduate research fellows. In 2011, she took on the role of Professional Development Coordinator and was promoted to the Assistant Director of member of the first cohort of graduate research fellows. Her research interests include understanding how exploring mathematical progressions may impact teacher content knowledge.
