Research Interests
Professor Bos' research interests focus on the prophetic books in the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament. He is currently working on a monograph that analyzes the characterization of the divine and human characters in these books. He is also interested in the development of monotheism in the socio-political milieu of ancient Judah.
Biography
James Bos is an Associate Professor of Religion with a focus on ancient Israelite/Judahite religion and early Judaism. In addition to introductory courses on religion, he also teaches courses on the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament, Judaism, and the Jewish philosopher Maimonides. He also offers a sequence of courses on Biblical Hebrew that fulfills the CLA language requirement.
