Biography

Growing up so close to Oxford, I’ve always considered Ole Miss to be my home. I was always here for some type of event, whether it was a football game, Double Decker weekend, or a baseball game. However, freshman year was the first time that I truly took the time to walk around campus and just take it all in. I quickly realized that all of my experiences on campus had been with Ole Miss, but I was just starting my relationship with the University of Mississippi. The two are the same, but oh so different! Ole Miss is the energy you can feel among fans on any game weekend. It’s the southern hospitality that welcomes you into town when you’re visiting. It’s the “Hotty Toddy” you receive from a fan when wearing an Ole Miss t-shirt in the airport. The University of Mississippi is the professors who push you to your limits because they know that you’re capable of anything. It’s the staff that will help you and mentor you and become your role models. It’s studying until 2 a.m. in J.D. Williams Library with people you met through class. Frank E. Everett Jr. said it best – “The University is respected, but Ole Miss is loved. The University gives a diploma and regretfully terminates tenure, but one never graduates from Ole Miss.”
