Lisa Goodwin Stone

In her role as director of strategic communications for University Marketing & Communications, Lisa provides development and oversight of comprehensive communication strategies including how the university effectively engages internal and external audiences.

Biography

For nearly three decades, Lisa’s passion for the mission of the University of Mississippi has fueled her career path with various roles across campus that focus on the development and leadership of comprehensive communication strategies. 

Early in her career at the university, she provided coordination and oversight of several statewide collaborations among Ole Miss, economic development agencies, other universities and NASA. In 2015, she began supporting efforts across University Marketing & Communications including executive communications, internal and campus communications, crisis communications/issues management, university-wide special projects and integrated institutional messaging. Among her current responsibilities include serving as Communications Lead for Project Encompass, the university’s initiative to modernize systems that house student information, human resources, payroll and financial data.

Lisa earned a B.A. in Political Science from Loyola University New Orleans and a M.A. in Political Science from the University of Mississippi. She has been recognized for her marketing and communications contributions including a 2023 CASE Circle of Excellence Silver Award for the 60th Anniversary of Integration commemoration and a 2023 CASE Best of District III Award for the annual Journey to Commencement campaign.
