Research Scientist II and Affiliate Assistant Professor of Geology and Geological Engineering
Research Interests
- Conducting geophysical and geotechnical field measurements for monitoring spatial and temporal changes in soil properties
- Non-invasive (non-destructive) integrity assessment of earthen structures such as dams and levees
- Groundwater aquifer mapping and characterization using near-surface geophysical methods
- Environmental site investigation and subsurface exploration of buried objects, voids, tunnels, sinkholes, landslides, and depth to bedrock.
Biography
Leti T. Wodajo received his Ph.D. (2018) in Civil Engineering from the University of Mississippi. He is currently a Research Scientist II at the National Center for Physical Acoustics (NCPA) and an Affiliate Assistant Professor of Geology and Geological Engineering. He is a skilled Civil Engineer/Geophysicist with an emphasis in geophysics and robust experience in geophysical and geotechnical shallow subsurface investigation. His research interests include developing and conducting geophysical and geotechnical laboratory experiments and field measurements to monitor spatial and temporal changes in soil properties, non-invasive integrity assessments of earthen structures such as dams and levees, groundwater aquifer mapping and characterization, and subsurface exploration and evaluation for voids, tunnels, sinkholes, landslide formations, and depth to bedrock. Dr. Wodajo is a current member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Environmental and Engineering Geophysical Society (EEGS), and the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE).
