Biography
Professor Baker joined the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2024. Before that, he was a Senior Associate at Minter Ellison, Australia's largest law firm. At Minter Ellison, Professor Baker was part of the Environment & Planning team and, before that, the Finance team. While at Minter Ellison, Professor Baker was recognized as one of Australia’s top young lawyers. He was named a “Rising Star” in law by Doyle’s Guide in 2022 and was a finalist for the Lawyers’ Weekly 30 Under 30 awards in 2020. Also while at Minter Ellison, Professor Baker taught for five years as an adjunct at the University of Technology, Sydney. Between 2019 and 2023, Professor Baker served as Director and later Secretary of St. John's Community Services Ltd., a medium-sized nonprofit based in inner-city Sydney. Professor Baker received his B.A. from Delta State University, where he graduated First Diploma (Valedictorian) and was captain of the men’s soccer team. He received his J.D. with Distinction from the University of New South Wales, currently Australia’s top-ranked law school.
