Research Scientist I

Parsa Bakhtiari Rad

Biography

Parsa B. Rad is a near-surface geophysicist interested in the propagation of sound waves in the subsurface layers. He has an outstanding background and hands-on skills, keen to extract valuable subsurface information through processing, modeling, and inversion of all seismic wavefields. In addition to reflection, refraction, and surface wave processing, he is particularly interested in the diffracted component of the sound wavefield in soil to increase the processing resolution for scatterer localization and small-scale object detection. Parsa B. Rad is also experienced in other geophysical methods, notably ground penetrating radar (GPR), electrical resistivity (ER), and electromagnetic induction (EMI) for subsurface studies.

Memberships include:
Symposium on the Application of Geophysics to Engineering and Environmental Problems (SAGEEP),
Environmental and Engineering Geophysical Society (EEGS),
Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG),
