Paul Frankel

Biography

Dr. Frankel holds a BS (Honors) in Social Science from Michigan State University, and a MS and PhD in Social Psychology from Tulane University. Dr. Frankel joined the Research, Scholarship, and Graduate School Education Team in 2024 to provide advanced program management support to innovative federal grants in the department of chemistry and biochemistry. While serving as a program evaluator and project manager at Youth Villages in Memphis, Centerstone’s Research Institute in Nashville, and at the University of Tennessee’s Social Work Office of Research and Public Service in Knoxville, Dr. Frankel supported state and federal grants in youth development, suicide prevention, community mental health treatment, and early childhood programming. Dr. Frankel has worked for more than 20 years in local schools and in diverse communities to provide technical assistance, vital resources, and research support. He has designed assessments, questionnaires, and surveys, developed educational materials for families, and has been privileged to collaborate with universities, corporations, state agencies, indigenous tribes, and nonprofit organizations worldwide. Dr. Frankel has volunteered for the YMCA, Big Brothers Big Sisters, at primary and secondary schools, and has taught undergraduate psychology courses at Tulane University in New Orleans, the University of Colorado Denver, and Metropolitan State College of Denver.
