Biography
Dr. Rupesh Kandel is a dedicated scientist and educator specializing in cytoskeleton biophysics and Tissue engineering. He is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at Biomedical Engineering department. Dr. Kandel's research explores motor proteins with an emphasis on advancing understanding of biophysical mechanisms, as well as tissue engineering. Dr. Kandel completed his Ph.D. at Jeonbuk National University, South Korea. He has published in esteemed journals such as ACS applied materials and interfaces, Chemical engineering, Carbohydrate polymers, International journal of biological macromolecules, contributing significantly as first author and corresponding authors. His innovative approach combines his expertise in tissue engineering with emerging techniques in molecular and biophysical engineering. A passionate advocate for education, Dr. Kandel has mentored graduate/undergraduate students at Jeonbuk National University. He is committed to fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment in research and education. Dr. Kandel is the recipient of Presidential Excellence Award, reflecting his impact on the field. Beyond academia, he enjoys traveling, hiking, playing outdoor games etc.
