Instructional Associate Professor of Marketing

Biography

Dr. Sam Cousley is an Instructional Associate Professor of Marketing. He has been a member of the School of Business Administration, faculty, since 1999. He earned a Doctor of Business Administration degree from Louisiana Tech University. He also earned his MBA and B.S. from Mississippi State University. He teaches a variety of marketing classes and an MBA class in predictive modeling and analytics. He previously taught at Arkansas State University and worked in the broadcasting industry as General Manager for a group of radio stations. His research has been published in the Employee Responsibilities and Rights Journal, Southern Journal of Business and Ethics, and Southern Law Journal.

His interests focus on the applications of machine learning and analytics to practical business problems. This includes various regression and model validation techniques such as nonlinear regression, cross-validation, bootstrap resampling, principal component regression, partial least squares regression, and penalized regression.

He has received the Outstanding Professor of the Year award from the Ole Miss School of Business Administration on six occasions.
