Taylor serves as Operations Coordinator for the Department of Biology at the University of Mississippi, providing administrative support to Dr. Carol Britson, Associate Chair for Undergraduate Studies, and Dr. Jason Hoeksema, Associate Chair and Graduate Program Coordinator.
Biography
As Operations Coordinator, Taylor coordinates departmental operations, works closely with undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, staff, and Student Services. She also supports student recruitment and retention initiatives. Taylor coordinates departmental events and tours for prospective students and visitors, manages departmental data entry, records, signage, communications, and serves as a key point of contact for the department’s main office, assisting with inquiries and visitors.
Prior to joining the Department of Biology, Taylor spent four and a half years in the College of Liberal Arts Dean’s Office, where she gained experience in academic administration, event coordination, and operational support while collaborating with faculty, staff, and students across the College.
Taylor earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Physiological Psychology with a minor in Social Science from Blue Mountain College. She is currently pursuing a part-time master’s degree in Counselor Education through the Department of Leadership and Counselor Education at the University of Mississippi and was selected as a 2026–2027 Character of Leaders Initiative (CLI) Steward. She is passionate about supporting student success, building meaningful connections, and fostering a welcoming campus community.
