About the Master of Science in Chemical Engineering
The Master of Science in Engineering Science from the department of Chemical Engineering offers a flexible curriculum—available in both thesis and nonthesis formats—that allows students to pursue in-depth study in one of four distinct specialization areas.
- Aeroacoustics explores the generation, propagation, and control of sound in fluid flows, with applications in aerospace, automotive, and industrial noise reduction.
- Chemical Engineering focuses on advanced chemical processes, reaction engineering, and process optimization for industries ranging from energy production to pharmaceuticals.
- Environmental Engineering addresses the design of sustainable systems for water and air quality management, waste treatment, and pollution prevention.
- Materials Science and Engineering examines the structure, properties, and performance of materials to develop innovative solutions in manufacturing, electronics, and renewable energy.
Across all specializations, students receive advanced technical training paired with hands-on research or applied project work. Guided by expert faculty, they design a personalized course plan, gain practical problem-solving experience, and complete culminating requirements such as a thesis, project report, or comprehensive examination—preparing them for professional advancement or further doctoral study.
