Graduate

Chemical Engineering, Ph.D.

Pursue a Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering Science with advanced, research-intensive study in Aeroacoustics, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Materials Science and Engineering.

About This Program

The Ph.D. in Engineering Science from the department of Chemical Engineering offers students the opportunity to pursue advanced study and original research in one of four specialized areas: aeroacoustics, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, and materials science and engineering.

  • This emphasis prepares graduates for leadership roles in research, industry, academia, and public service, equipping them with deep technical knowledge and strong communication skills.
  • Students come from a wide range of academic backgrounds and work closely with faculty to tailor their coursework and research to their chosen area of focus.

Whether exploring the behavior of sound in aerodynamic systems, advancing sustainable environmental solutions, designing complex chemical processes, or developing the materials of the future, students in this program gain the experience and credentials needed to shape the future of engineering science.
