Important Information for Current & Returning Students

Make sure you stay on top of the required paperwork so your benefits stay on track.

Current/returning students must complete and email their advisor a Term Approval Form and request their advisor to approve, sign, and submit to the VMS team on the Box Submission Site.  All TAF submissions must come from the advisor only - no student submissions will be accepted.

Provided you did not change your benefit type or change your academic major, this is the only form required for each semester after you've completed your first semester at Ole Miss.

Documents received before a term begins will be processed in the order received during our first billing cycle (the day after the term's add/drop date). Documents received after a term begins will be processed in the order received after the first billing cycle is completed.

Students who plan to change their major or participate in Study Abroad programs are highly encouraged to speak with a School Certifying Official before beginning the process to change their major and before applying for Study Abroad. Both of these actions can be detrimental to receipt of benefits if not properly planned and filed through VMS.  The Study Abroad program WILL likely have associated expenses that are NOT covered by the VA.  As a result, the student would be responsible for payment of associated expenses.

Students who have exhausted their VA education benefits can apply for a Non-Resident Scholarship to retain the in-state tuition rate.  Provided the student has remained continuously enrolled in each Fall and Spring semester since arriving here, the university will consider granting the scholarship for up to eight semesters, or until a bachelor's degree is awarded - whichever comes first.
