Space Management
Space is one of the university’s most valuable resources. From renovations to new construction, every project has a ripple effect on how campus space is allocated and utilized.
Optimizing Campus Space Usage
At Ole Miss, the Provost serves as the final authority on space administration, while the Department of Facilities Planning supports this mission by working closely with departments to ensure that space is assigned and used effectively.
What’s Changing: A New Era of Space Management
We are currently transitioning to a modern Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) called Planon. This tool will enable departments to access and manage their own space data in real-time, while still being supported by our central space management office.
- Your assigned space manager is actively gathering detailed space data across campus.
- Once Planon is live, departments will have direct access to view and update their space information.
- You will still be fully supported with moves, allocation requests, and strategic planning through our office.
This upgrade will bring greater transparency, data accuracy, and flexibility to space management across the university.
