WHAT WE DO

The Office of the Provost oversees the entire academic enterprise of the University of Mississippi, including budgets, faculty matters, academic issues, policies, accreditation, interactions with our governing board as they relate to academic issues, planning and strategic issues, student services, research, and minority and diversity support programs.

Provost Staff

The Provost staff members attend to an array of administrative matters. The team assists the Provost with academic and operational planning, management, research, marketing, and communications. The Staff comprises a dynamic team that meets regularly.

Croft Institute for International Studies

The Croft Institute is the center of academic excellence for students who want to transcend the horizons of their local community, their region, and the nation as a whole.

Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts

The Gertrude Castellow Ford Center for the Performing Arts enriches the intellectual and cultural environment of the University of Mississippi and the region by providing a venue for programming in performing arts, public affairs and the humanities.

The University of Mississippi Museum and Historic Houses

The University of Mississippi Museum and Historic Houses complex serves as a cultural center for the university community and beyond. Among its holdings are Southern folk art, Greek and Roman antiquities, 19th century scientific instruments, and American fine art. Part of the museum complex includes William Faulkner's home, Rowan Oak and Walton-Young Historic House—once home to critic and satirist Stark Young.

Office of Global Engagement

We are responsible for the development, promotion, and support of all global engagement activities on campus. Our goal is the comprehensive internationalization of the university, and the development of our students, faculty, and staff as global citizens.

Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning

The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning promotes exemplary teaching and meaningful learning at the University of Mississippi. We serve the UM teaching community by supporting the awareness and adoption of inclusive, evidence-based teaching practices and acting as a hub for the study and dissemination of research on teaching.

Office of the Registrar

Responsibilities of the Office of the Registrar include registration of students for classes, recording of class grades on official university records, maintaining and supplying transcripts of students’ academic work and processing course withdrawals.

Haley Barbour Center for Manufacturing Excellence

The Haley Barbour Center for Manufacturing Excellence (CME) helps students prepare for the manufacturing industry through educational programs, extension services, and economic development initiatives.
